The figure shows the width of the temporal horn (a) the largest vertical height of hyppocampal formation (b) and the largest vertical width of the choroid fissure (c) which must be evaluated in order to assign the medial temporal atrophy score.






Analysing normality or alteration of these structures (reduction of hyppocampal height, increase of width of the temporal horn and of choroid fissure), score can be 0 (no atrophy), 1 (minim atrophy), 2 (mild atrophy), 3 (moderate atrophy), 4 (severe atrophy).
